The Brian Jonestown Massacre

The Brian Jonestown Massacre was formed in San Francisco in 1990. The band has had over 40 members since then, but its driving force and main songwriter is Anton Newcombe. Their sound is heavily influenced by the psychedelic sounds of the 1960s, but also carries influences from shoegaze, jangle pop, garage rock, and lo-fi sonorities. Over its decade-long history, the band has undergone a large number of personnel changes. Multi-instrumentalist and main songwriter Anton Newcombe is the only member who has stayed with the Brian Jonestown Massacre since its beginning. This is one of my favorite bands of all time. They make some of the greatest music that has ever graced my ears and no matter how many times I listen to them it just never gets old to me. Last year I got the chance to see them live in Los Angeles and they played over two hours of what became one of the greatest shows of my life. I have laughed, I have cried, I have felt numb and so much more to this brilliant band. Do yourself a favor and pleasure your ears with what some like to call the BJM, love. They have so many albums/singles/ep's, so if you want them all then dig around yourself, but here are all my favorites.
